About Gunung Kawi Temple
Concealed in a lush valley and surrounded by rice paddies is one of Bali’s earliest spiritual sites, the Gunung Kawi Temple. Situated next to the sacred Pakrisan River, Gunung Kawi is an important source of holy water required for Balinese Hindu rites. Enormous shrines carved into the mountain stand guard over the temple complex and ancient royal tombs.
