About The Mystic Tin

Start the day with a cup of coffee on our covered stub with the view of three big palm trees.

Recharge with a tasty, wholesome, feel good lunch and a homebrewed Karoo beer in our beautiful beer garden with lots of trees and crafts.

As the evening comes closer The Mystic Tin lights up in candlelight and our chef prepares a local, Indian and north African cuisine with fillets, curries, pasta and vegetarian dishes.

The restaurant is rustic, yet stylish with a warm ambience, local artwork, Cuban, French, Brazilian and jazz music and a fireplace for the cooler evenings.

The bar offers coffee, wine, beers and other drinks as well as a couch to chill on and games to play.

Join us on a summer's evening for a braai in the garden and sit around the big fire enjoying a cold Karoo brew beer.

We stayed at the B&B next door and over the four days we were in Montague we ended up going to the Mystic Tin four times! We originally wandered in there to find a Geocache, and just found ourselves going back over and over again. They have a lovely relaxed attitude, the food is great (try the lamb curry!) and my husband thought their coffee was the best in town. The restaurant is under new management (since, I think, the beginning of June 2013) so I'm sure there'll be some changes over the next few months (hopefully they'll do something with the garden at the back, which has so much more pote...
